Trippin'

So, I flew to Napier yesterday - just for the day. I like planes. It's like you're on a conveyor belt to the next part of your life, and so is everyone else onboard. You can't go anywhere till you land so you may as well have a yak to people and see where their lives are taking them.

On the way there, I sat next to a man who constructed water sculptures. He was off to investigate the possibility of upgrading a large public water feature in the Bay. Hell of an interesting job for someone who is a qualified plumber.

On the way back I sat next to a young man from Waipawa who was off to meet his girlfriend, Emma, in the UK. She's over there with work. He was a lovely kid. Talked about wanting to see the world but said he was happy to come home to his small town again. Home was home. He'd already been to Kansas for work and loved the people there.

Sad that we see the troublesome teens on the news when there are kids like this one who, quite frankly, I'd much rather hear about. Shame John Campbell didn't still have a programme. He could've done a "so, what are you up to?" segment.
