Quote of the Day...

It always seems impossible, until it's done.

Procrastinating...

I should be writing.

Instead, I'm sitting here drinking tea and wondering if any of the other patrons would mind if I curled up under the table and went to sleep.

I'm pretty sure it'd be fine as long as I didn't snore.

Still, it wouldn't really help the word count of my novel.

Maybe I should start a new book called "100 places to have a Nana Nap".  Now THAT would definitely be a best-seller.

How do I feel?

Sometimes I amaze myself.
Other times I can't remember what day it is.

On that note, today is probably not Friday -  that's a bit of a bugger.
But tomorrow will not be Monday - some things are a blessing.

The Things You Do...

J. K. Rowling came up with the names for the houses at Hogwarts in Harry Potter while she was on a plane. She jotted the names down on a sick-bag.

Dr Seuss included the word ‘contraceptive’ in a draft of his children’s book Hop on Pop to make sure his publisher was paying attention.

Emily Brontë once had to put out her brother, Branwell, when he set fire to his bedclothes.

Author Michael Bond bought a Paddington Bear in 1956; he felt sad for the bear as it was the only toy left on the shop’s shelves on Christmas Eve.

Modernist writer Katherine Mansfield wore mourning dress to her first wedding and left her husband on their wedding night.

WRITING, WRITING, WRITING...

After a bit of a lull (that's what happens when life gets in the way), I'm back on track with my latest novel.  I've been outside rugged up and cradling my laptop since 7:30am.

As a result, there's a whole new branch to the story.  I only meant to make a quick note, but then an entire chapter came pouring out. Love it when that happens!

Roll on the rest of the day...

My Favourite Printed T-Shirt...

I saw a t-shirt online with the following text printed on it.  Cracks me up every time I read it!
Being a writer is easy. It's like riding a bike.Except the bike is on fire. You're on fire.Everything is on fire. And you're in Hell.
Yep - but it's a groovy kind of Hell.

THE NEVER ENDING STORY...

One of the problems I face when I write a book is that the finish line keeps moving:
Just when I think I have the plot nailed, I dream up another person to kill.
